No runner on first. The catcher doesn't catch a third strike, but he throws the ball to first base and 1B makes the out. The catcher gets an assist?

Seems to me that he does, the player is out on action 2-3. So assist for the catcher out for the 1st baseman.

Yes, and the pitcher is awarded a strikeout.
