My name is Gary Kahn and I just recently graduated from Grinnell College (IA), hailing from Ft. Lauderdale, FL. I wanted to shoot out a thread to express my interest in pitching in Europe. I just wrapped up a pretty good year on the mound, put up some good numbers, and got an All-Midwest Conference nod. My agent/adviser Rob Martin from ICON Sports Management and myself have been preparing for the upcoming draft--as it looks, I will be receiving an invite to the Pre-Draft camp out in Cedar Rapids and currently we are trying to 'round all of my bases' just in case the draft or free agency does not work out.
Statistically, I was on the gun from 87-89 comfortably this season and was missing a lot of bats. My Avg. against was .191 (lead the conference and region, 14th in NCAA) with 7 2B through 44 innings (no 3Bs and no HRs) and 44 Ks. I finished the year with a 3-0 record through 9 starts and a 2.82 ERA. For the summers of 2007 and 2008, I was invited to the Valley League and pitched for the Woodstock River Bandits. I was slotted in the 8th inning setup role for the summer, ended up with the most appearances on the staff, and was near the top in some of the league statistical categories. I know that I will have a good deal of success at the next level, but as probably you know, it is difficult to legitimately rely on the MLB Draft as a DIII player (even with an agent and 2 summers in the Valley league). After conducting research on the team and the league, I (along with Rob Martin) believe that pitching in Europe would be a good fit for myself and whatever organization I pitch for. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact my agent/adviser Rob Martin at 781.405.4266, Mac Seibert (regional scout for the New York Mets, former crosschecker for the Rays) at 850.572.2927, Armando Rodriguez (associate scout for the New York Yankees) at 786.227.3844, and Stu Richardson (Owner of the Woodstock River Bandits) at 804.467.5128. I look forward to hearing from some of you guys very soon!! Best, Gary Kahn kahngary@grinnell.edu gkahn31@gmail.com 954.610.7706 |
