A versatile 24-year-old former Big West Conference (NCAA) utility player, Johnny Coit, is seeking to play in Europe in 2009. The 5′10″, 200 pounder who is an outfielder, infielder and a catcher batted .293 (130-for-443) with 17 doubles, five home runs and 58 RBIs in three seasons at Cal-State Northridge.
The California native has two years experience in professional baseball and hit .258/.361/.374 in 50 games at the independent league level in 2007 while registering 10 doubles, two homers and 22 RBIs.
In 13 games in the Arizona Winter League, the left-handed hitter posted a .371 batting mark (13-for-35) with seven extra-base hits, 12 RBIs and an .829 slugging percentage.
