Martin Kipphan?s RBI single in the bottom of the first extra inning delivered a walk-off win for MAINZ in game one. TORNADO Dominik Hoepfner had tied the match in the top of the ninth with a two-run homerun. Raeff Hobbs-Brown got the win in relief, Martin Dewald the loss.

The second match was much different. MANNHEIM started fast and led already 5-1 after three frames and decided the outcome definitely with nine runs in the ninth. Eddie Aucoin received his fourth win of the season in his defeat of Nils Hartkopf.

Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg ? Gauting Indians 5-1, 8-4
The LEGIONAERE scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to win 5-1 against the INDIANS. Mike Bolsenbroek struck out eight in five innings, but ran into trouble in the top of the sixth. Reliever Philipp Hoffschild received his fifth victory of the year. Dominik Hartinger took the loss.

In the second part of the doubleheader, REGENSBURG used a four-run seventh to blow a close game open. GAUTING rallied for three runs in the ninth, but the comeback try was too late. It was not a pretty win for the home squad, as they made six errors. Martin Almstetter got the win, Matt Fuller the loss.

Simon Kudernatsch returned from his stint at the University of Hartford, Connecticut and had five hits and two runs on the day.

Haar Disciples ? Neuenburg Atomics 9-0, 2-0
The DISCIPLES received two strong pitching performances by Theo Gieschen and Dirk Fries to celebrate two shutouts against the ATOMICS. Gieschen threw a four-hit complete game in the first part. Nate Fish had four hits, scored twice and drove in three. Andreas Gerth took the loss.

The second game was finished in an Europe-friendly 90 minutes after Fries and Alex Aucoin were locked in a pitchers duel. NEUENBURG actually out-hit HAAR 6-3, but runs by Tony Younis and Adalberto Paulino in the second and sixth period decided the outcome.

Saarlouis Hornets ? Heidenheim Heidekoepfe 2-6, 4-11
The HORNETS said farewell to the playoff spots with their losses six and seven in a row. The HEIDEKOEPFE built up a 5-0 lead and never looked back in a 6-2 game one victory. Peter Dankerl received the win in a duel against Ales Keprta. Dankerl also got help from four double plays by his defense.

Ted Lilly led HEIDENHEIM to an easy 11-4 win in game two. He scored the first three runs for the guests and brought his hit total for the day to five, including a homerun. Markus Winkler got the win. Salvatore Messina took the loss.
