Default Tony Younis joins Haar Disciples

One of the promising German prospects, Tony Younis will join the HAAR DISCIPLES after finishing the college season in the United States. He is 23 years old and can play every position in the infield. The club hopes that he arrives before the home game against the NEUENBURG ATOMICS on May 24.

In 2006 Younis played for the now relegated FUERTH PIRATES in the Baseball-Bundesliga. He batted .304 with seven homeruns, 17 runs scored and 17 RBI. After that season he came to Regensburg, where he hit .214 during the regular season and .258 in the playoffs for the LEGIONAERE. He went to North Iowa Area College afterwards. There he had a batting average of .380 with seven homeruns, 50 runs scored and 50 RBI. He reached the regional playoffs with the TROJANS and returns to Germany following the postseason.

The DISCIPLES are currently tied with the MAINZ ATHLETICS and the SAARLOUIS HORNETS in fourth place of the southern conference standings with 5-7 records.
