Default Searching Headcoach for Switzerland

I am Melanie Wanner from the Therwil Flyers Switzerland (www.therwil-flyers.ch) and we are looking for a Head coach for our Baseball team.

We have a Team in the highest league of Switzerland. Our Team has been Swiss champion in 2003 (and 6 times more before that). Since then the team has been reformed with many young players, who are very talented, but are not yet at there peak. For this year we would like to make at least the playoffs, if not even achieve the title.

We also have a Team in the second league of Switzerland and two junior teams.

In the first place we are looking for a head coach for our first team.

He should be able to help the young players to become better and motivate the older and more experienced players to work hard again and labour on there fine skills. We are also looking for someone who can improve the pitching skills of everyone. (we have one player who is a pitcher of the Swiss national team and also many young pitchers.)

Now I hope for a lot of respond and interested people.

Hello Melanie,
It's coach Ferran. I am curious as to the offer, what the salary, benefits and term of contract, etc. would be. I am married with 2 kids that will join me in Europe. I have been working with youth and college/pro level players since I stopped playing in the 90's. This June I have a wedding I must attend for my brother. I am finding that has been a problem for some clubs. I am interested in the 2009 season as well so you know.He will be taking care of my trip to attend. Once again you can "google" George Ferran to see a list of my professional accomplishments with the San Francisco Giants.
Regards,
George Ferran

Default Coach for Therwil Flyers

Hello Mr. Ferran

Thank you for your interest. I’m afraid we can’t pay you what you need – we never had a family father as a coach so far. But it is worth a try. Here what we can offer you:

We would once pay your flight to Switzerland and back to the States. We would pay for your insurances and for your apartment.

Is that possible for you or not? I’m sorry, but we just don’t have more money.

Melanie Wanner

Default Therwil Coach

Melanie, sounds reasonable to me.

Couple questions. Does this include a car? What is the schedule? Are there any scheduled days off for sight-seeing/tourism? What are the contracted start and finish dates?

I know you would be very pleased with me as a father-coach. I look forward to hearing from you.

George

Default Coach for Therwil Flyers

Hello George

The season starts in late April an lasts until October.

You would have 2 to 3 practises a week with your team. Then we would expect you to help the coaches from the junior teams, that makes 2 more practices in the week.
It is also possible (but not certain or compelling), that you support the coaches from the second team and / or the softball team once a week.

In the first round you would have 20 games (10 double headers) and after that the playoffs begin. If you make them, you have a maximum of 10 more games. We also have a cup competition, where you have a maximum of 5 single games.

There would be lots of time for sightseeing.

About the car, I would have to ask, but rather not. (we just can’t afford it.)

Melanie

Hello Melanie,

I am very interested in coaching the Therwil Flyers. I've been managing, although not professionally, a men's team for 4+ years. I'm 23 and am ready to go whenever. I can pretty much guarantee I will be your most cost-friendly option as I am willing to take on the responsibilities for very little compensation. Please let me know if you have any coaching positions available.
