Default Defending British National Champions looking for a pitcher

The 2007 British national champions are looking for a pitcher, who can also coach its 14- to 16-year-old team.

Details:

- The team is looking for a player who can start one game on the hill each week and then contribute offensively (playing either infield or outfield) in another game. (The team plays weekly doubleheaders throughout the season.) Our regular season is about 28 games plus playoffs. The British National League is a wood-bat only league.

- The team would need you to arrive in late March/early April and remain until mid-September.

- A key to the job along with playing: Responsibility for coaching the club's PONY team (14- to 16-year-olds) as well as teaching baseball in schools (this is teaching the real basics of the game). This element to the job is very important so if you don't have experience working with kids, this might not be the right job for you.

- The deal includes $1,000 per month, accommodation and flights to and from London.

If you think you're background suits what we're looking for, please send along your e-mail address and we can discuss further.

Hello -
My name is Bill Duffy, and I am an outfielder from Lewis University in Romeoville, Il. I am 21 and have one more spring to play college ball. My stats are good, I hit .338 and Lewis plays in a wood bat league. I am a seconddary ed major, so I have some teaching experience. I pitch some (lefty) , but mainly I am an outfielder.
I don't graduate until May 8 or so, so I am not sure if that is too late for you.
You can see my info at Lewisu.edu or email me back and I will send whatever you need.
Thanks -
Duffy

Default Pitcher/Coach

I am an American and played four years of college baseball. I played two years at Lincoln Land Community College, which is a national powerhouse and won the national championship the year before I arrived. I then played for Illinois College and broke many single season pitching records (as well as a few career records in only two years). I am a right handed pitcher and can also play the infield if necessary. I am 6 feet, 2 inches tall and 185 pounds. I spent two years working out with professional teams, but never signed. As a starting pitcher, I throw in the mid 80s. I throw a cut fastball, sinker, curveball and changeup. I have coached freshmen in high school (age 13-15)for the past three years. I also have experience working camps. I continue to work out every week and play during the summers. I can provide statistics and references if necessary. I am interested in a position where I may play and/or coach.
